Nederman’s modern era of expansion began with the acquisition of Dantherm Filtration in 2010, followed by Environmental Filtration Technologies (EFT) in 2012. Founding and early innovation (1940s–1950s)

Founded in 1944 in Helsingborg, Sweden, Nederman emerged in the post-war industrial boom, when factories were rapidly mechanizing and worker safety was often overlooked. The company focused on improving air quality in industrial environments, developing early source-capture filtration systems and local ventilation solutions. These innovations reduced exposure to dust, fumes and other airborne hazards, establishing Nederman as a pioneer in protecting workers’ health and supporting more efficient production processes.

Regulatory momentum and market growth (1960s–1970s)

The 1960s and 1970s saw heavy industry expand across Europe and North America, alongside growing awareness of occupational health and environmental impacts. Regulations like OSHA in the U.S. and the Swedish Work Environment Act set new standards for emissions and workplace safety. Nederman responded with advanced source-capture systems, welding-fume extraction and industrial ventilation solutions, helping companies meet regulatory demands while improving both worker protection and process efficiency.
